LATE ROMAN/MEDIEVAL RING SIZE 4 3/4. 7th-10th century AD. 10/17/2023 Large size 10 ¼ withGilt bronze with rounded bezel incised with a diamond within a diamond. Rounded face band flared to the shoulders. A womans ring for the small finger dating to the period of artistic reversal known as the Dark Ages, after the fall of Rome. It is the period of the spread of Christianity and pilgrimages to the Holy Land before the Crusades. This example is lightly surface textured from burial with the gold surface restored.
