Baseline characteristics The following maternal, obstetrics, and perinatal baseline characteristics were collected: (1) birth in a tertiary (inborn) or outside a tertiary center (outborn), (2) mode of delivery (vaginal or C-section), (3) clinical chorioamnionitis, defined as maternal fever without other cause or prenatal antibiotics use without other source of infection than chorioamnionitis or preterm premature rupture of membranes, (4) pre-eclampsia, (5) HELLP (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets) syndrome, and (6) any exposure to antenatal corticosteroids
