The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiovascular events (often called MACE), a combined measure of: Cardiovascular death Nonfatal heart attack Nonfatal stroke Over a median follow-up of about 3.5 years, semaglutide reduced the relative risk of these events by about 20% compared with placebo
